Phil Bender World Tour Grand Prize Winners Announced

WASHINGTON - The results are in and Blue Crew members Greg Matlesky and Rebecca Prowler have been chosen as the grand prize winners of the 2008-09 Phil Bender World Tour. Matlesky, a freshman from Central Jersey, N.J., won an Apple MacBook Pro laptop while Prowler, a sophomore from Port Washington, N.Y., will receive free books for the fall 2009 semester.

Matlesky and Prowler were chosen at random from hundreds of participants as the grand prize winners of the Phil Bender World Tour. The tour consisted of nine home athletics events, one for each team, and special events designated throughout the year. During each event, Blue Crew members were given a secret password which they then entered at AUeagles.com. Only those Blue Crew members who submitted the most correct secret passwords were eligible for the grand prize.

`On behalf of the entire Athletics Department I would like to congratulate Greg and Rebecca,' David Bierwirth, Associate Athletics Director for Development and Special Events commented. `The support of the Blue Crew throughout the year was incredible and really helped to give our teams a true home-court advantage. We look forward to continuing that great support next year as our teams pursue championships on the field.'
