Men’s Basketball Games to be Broadcast on CBS College Sports Network

The American University Department of Athletics announced today that the Eagles will host two regular season games in front of a national television audience during the 2009-2010 season. The final two weeks of Patriot League play will include a ‘flex' game package, providing the possibility for American to add two more regular season games to the CBS College Sports package.

"We are excited to play these games on CBS College," American University Head Coach Jeff Jones commented. "This is a great opportunity to keep our out-of-area fans connected with the program and to create a big-game atmosphere for fans inside Bender Arena."

American's first contest on CBS College Sports will take place on Sunday, January 17, against Colgate at 2 p.m. The Eagles have won 10 straight games against the Raiders, including a 52-46 victory in the 2008 Patriot League Championship Game. American will also host Bucknell as part of the broadcast schedule on Thursday, February 11, at 7 p.m.

The CBS College Sports broadcast schedule also includes a ‘flex' game package with options for the Eagles' February 21st game at Holy Cross and February 27th game against Lafayette in Bender.

American's television appearances are part of an agreement announced Wednesday between the Patriot League and CBS College Sports. A total of 10 Patriot League men's and women's games will be broadcast on the network, including two Patriot League Men's Basketball Tournament contests.

CBS College Sports Network is available across the country through local cable operators and via satellite on DIRECTV Channel 613 and Dish Network Channel 152.  For more information on how to get CBS College Sports Network, click here.
