@AU_MBasketball Drops Exhibition Contest to Sydney Kings Invitational

SYDNEY — Sa'eed Nelson led the American University men's basketball team with 19 points and held a small lead in the second quarter, but the Sydney Kings Invitational team prevailed, 88-67, on Thursday evening at the Whitlam Centre Liverpool, Hosted by Wildfire Basketball.

Sam Iorio had 12 points and Drew LaMont added 11 for the Eagles. American held a two-point lead 31-29 late in the second quarter, but the Kings rallied back to take a seven-point advantage at the half, 40-33. 

American shot 48 percent from the floor and 66 percent from the line. 

Isaac Humphries led the Kings with 23 points as was part of five players to finish in double figures for the hosts. The Kings shot 34 percent from the field and 75 percent from the charity stripe. 

American will conclude its Australia Foreign Tour on Saturday evening against the Sydney Comets at 7:30 p.m. (Australia) / 5:30 a.m. (Eastern).
