@AU_MBasketball Drops Tight Contest to Sydney Comets, 85-77

SYDNEY — Four players finished in double figures, led by Sa'eed Nelson with 17 points, but American University fell to the Sydney Comets, 85-77, to conclude AU's Australian Tour on Saturday evening.

Sam Iorio finished with 15 points and eight rebounds in 29 minutes. Mark Gasperini contributed 14 points and six assists and Drew LaMont chipped in 13 points and five rebounds. 

American led 44-38 at the half and held a 16-point lead, 36-20, early in the second quarter. Sydney stormed back in the third quarter outscoring American 27-8 in the period and 13-4 in the final five minutes of the frame. The Eagles battled back and cut the deficit to three, 73-70, with 3:40 remaining.

Indiana Faithfull had a game-best 21 points and eight rebounds to lead the Comets. Four other players also scored in double figures for the hosts. Alex Overs had 14 points while William Hickey and Louis Brandt had 12 each. Christian Jurlina added 10 points for Sydney.
