The duo of Michelle Kirk and Liz Leer recorded career-highs with 27 and 19 points, respectively, to lead the American University women’s basketball team to a 64-54 victory at Brown on Wednesday afternoon in Providence, R.I. Senior guard Nicole Ryan grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds in the victory.

The American University women’s basketball played at Princeton on Monday night at Jadwin Gym in Princeton, N.J., and was defeated by a score of 77-45. Senior Nicole Ryan led the Eagles with 16 points in the defeat, and moved into second place in career three-pointers in program history.

Michelle Kirk of the women’s basketball team has been named the American University Student Athlete of the Week presented by GEICO, Department of Athletics officials announced Monday. Kirk led the Eagles to a victory in their season opener on Friday at cross-town rival Howard, 71-59.

Michelle Kirk scored a game-high 25 points on 10-of-20 shooting from the field to lead the American University women's basketball team to a 71-59 victory at Howard on Friday night in both teams' 2009-10 season-opener. The Preseason All-Patriot League selection also chipped in seven rebounds and three assists.
