Despite the raucous crowd on hand, American was unable to outmatch visiting Georgetown as the Eagles fell in four sets, 3-1. American also lost a 3-1 decision earlier in the day to George Washington as the team’s competed in the D.C. Volleyball Challenge.

The American University volleyball team has been honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association with the AVCA Team Academic Award, marking the eighth consecutive year AU has been honored. The American University Eagles will travel to West Point, N.Y. to take on third-seeded Colgate in the semifinal of the Patriot League tournament on Saturday. American tied for second place with Colgate in the Patriot League at the conclusion of the regular season and earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament by having a better overall set record in Patriot League play.
