The American University volleyball team has been honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association with the AVCA Team Academic Award, marking the eighth consecutive year AU has been honored. The Eagles are one of 10 Division I programs to receive the award and appear in the 2008 NCAA Tournament.

The American University Eagles will travel to West Point, N.Y. to take on third-seeded Colgate in the semifinal of the Patriot League tournament on Saturday. American tied for second place with Colgate in the Patriot League at the conclusion of the regular season and earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament by having a better overall set record in Patriot League play.
